Calipers can be a very handy tool to have on hand for a number of reasons. You can use your calipers to measure a bead by placing the bead or gem between the jaws and then reading the number to get the size hole to hole. They can also be helpful for visualizing the size of a bead indicated in a pattern or before ordering beads online.
