Kumihimo is a really easy and fun way to braid. Adding beads or crystals will add texture, sparkle and color to your piece. Here is an excellent video that I found that shows how to use a Kumihimo disk incorporating beads into a standard 8 strand braid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TGzJEgHYlc&feature=related. If you don’t have a Kumihimo disk you can make one by cutting a hole in the center of a sturdy piece of foam board or cardboard. You will then need to cut 32 equally spaced slots around the board. Then draw black dots between slots 1 and 32, 7 and 8, 16 and 17, and 24 and 25. Have fun! Once you get started it’s addicting!
